speaking of books....
Happy Week 2009: Day 4
I absolutely love to read and wish I more time to do it. Here's what is currently waiting on my bookshelf while I finish The Host:
This one is an Oprah's Book Club book, but don't hold that against it. I think it sounded great before I knew that tidbit. (Don't throw stones, I just don't usually care for Oprah's choices. I'm just saying...)
Good Omens was suggested by a friend of mine. Apparently it is a funny account of the coming Apocolypse, which, as a personal rule, do NOT read about, but this one appealed to me. Here's a blurb:
According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (the world's only completely accurate book of prophecies, written in 1655, before she exploded), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. Just before dinner.
So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan. Except a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon -- both of whom have lived amongst Earth's mortals since The Beginning and have grown rather fond of the lifestyle -- are not actually looking forward to the coming Rapture. And someone seems to have misplaced the Antichrist...
This truly is right up my alley because I love dark humor. (The Royal Tennenbaums anyone?) I think I'll enjoy it.

Happy Week 2009: Day 3
These little sweeties are currently living in our garage. There are 5 of them and I am in love with them all already! They are 3 weeks old today!
Think Mr. SS will let me keep them all? You're right, probably not. The momma cat, Buddie, is officially his cat, but I like to claim her as mine, too. She's precious, don't let the grimmace in this photo fool you.

Happy Week 2009: Day 2

Here are just a few of his wonderful qualities:
He's funny, intelligent, and outgoing.
He does ALL of the laundry because he's a bit OCD about it, which is perfect for me because I hate laundry.
He likes to clean. Yes, he really does. Again, I hate to clean. Atleast we can clean together and it feels less gruelling.
He loves movies more than I do and will even watch my girly, romantic comedies without complaint. (I mean, he took me to see Hannah Montana twice--once at the theater and once at the drive-in--but let's ignore the fact that I loved that movie, okay? What can I say, it's a guilty pleasure...)
He let me have my dog--who was living at my parents' house until I got out of college--even though he is avidly against having animals in the house.
He lets me take really long Sunday afternoon naps.
He never complains about my craft stuff laying all over the house.
...and so many more that I could never name them all.
Needless to say, I'm a very lucky gal. The luckiest. I hope each of you find what we have together.
